In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Empty
PostSubject: In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure   In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Icon_minitimeMon Aug 03, 2009 1:02 am

Tiger wandered through the streets, her eyes stared straight ahead even as her fingers wandered through the random pockets of the people she passed. It was a secondary instinct to her, the finding of random stuff. In the next couple days she'd check her many pouches and pockets and wonder at all the neat things she had found.
On her pouty lips rested a goofy smile that was reflected in her silver eyes. The silvery blue hair was distinct among her own kind and any who were familiar with Elesiana would know of the unusual traits of the Royal family. For those that weren't familiar with this odd race, the thin banded circlet that met in the center of her forehead, attached to the Chaos medallion that had both her clan crest plus the royal moniker superimposed above it, was a dead giveaway to the fact that she was a member of the Royal Family.
Tiger. That was her birth name but NOT the name she would eventually come to be known by. The choice of a name was one of many thoughts racing steadily through her mind. Mainly though, was the adventure she was setting out on. Today was her coming of age party...and really, she'd much rather leave then go to it.
Her legs kept moving whilst her mind was miles away but she found herself mysteriously at her destination. So deep in thought had she been that she hadn't even noticed the passing of time. As with all her kin, once she stepped through the portal she would be unable to return home until she had found her name...and her calling. Finding both could take a very long time but leaving wasn't difficult for her. Since she wasn't in line for the throne, that fell solely to her oldest brother, and wasn't even a favorite of the children no one would be particularly sad to find her gone.
Unfortunately, the instant she stepped into the portal the gate behind her went closed. That was the only normal thing to happen as her power gave this particular portal the 'bad whammy' as she'd began calling her luck with objects. The lavender swirling vortex changed, turning jet black, "uh oh," she muttered as the 'floor' beneath her feet vanished and she began to fall. The family crest was also the family's power, though most of her kin had far less of it than her. Chaos. All of the family line effected every force around them, but some how...she got the super whammy type of Chaos. When she wanted something to work..it wouldn't. When she wanted something to break it'd work perfectly; much to her very intense displeasure. So she was really used to things skewing.
And so she fell. She didn't scream in fear or have hysterics. All of this was just too familiar to her now. Tiger crossed her arms, rolled her eyes, sighed dramatically in resignation. Time passed and she got bored. Little did she know that she was passing through dimensions of space and time. Quite suddenly she screamed out, "ENOUGH," and found herself dropped into a massive coliseum. But! Did she land in the stands? Nope. It was her...good fortune...to land inside the battle arena RIGHT in the middle of a battle. Even worse...magic balls were flying at her from both directions since she had managed to land right in between the two battling warriors.
She closed her eyes, shook her head and muttered, "Jinxed. I swear," then waited to get blasted. Up in the stands three very large individuals watched the match with interest and a growing sense of anger. These theatrics were unnecessary...to their way of thinking and really had very little to do with honor and integrity.
At the very last possible second Tiger spoke two words very softly, "Chaos Shields," and then spun so fast that the motion couldn't be caught by any but the most skilled warriors. As she moved the air warped around her as two shields formed in her hands and the magical energy that had been moving towards her, alarmingly splashed off her shields into the air above the stands turning into fireworks of a sort. The bright sparks from the magic had the crowd oohing and aahing. The trio that watched sat up. Something just was...off about this whole thing.

In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Empty
PostSubject: Re: In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure   In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Icon_minitimeMon Aug 03, 2009 1:03 am

In the arena Tiger panted even as she fended off more blasts of magic. Apparently now SHE was the target of the two warriors in the ring with her. She had managed a small reprieve as the duo stared at her...they'd barely been able to follow her movements. The rules of the arena had changed in the long years since those legendary matches that Vultrin had participated in. Back then it had been all one on one battles and fairness was just as important as the honor of the warriors participating. Now though...the new owner cared of nothing but the fans he could draw and so the battles now were free for all type matches where anything was allowed so long as the fans were amused. Though...at times even the spectators weren't safe. The shielding that had once protected them was gone now and so more deaths were just another part of the showing.
Tiger knew she was in trouble as the warriors began heading her way. They had put away the magic and were drawing weapons. One had a very large axe, the other had a very sharp looking sword. She panted heavily. Using the shields tired her out in the best of circumstances. Using them continuously made her extra tired. No one in her line had been born with the amount of power she held within her and because of that, there was no one to learn from in using her abilities. The only reason she knew how to use the shielding was because of a weird old man she had liked to visit sometimes when she managed to escape her tutors. The shield, used singly, didn't tire her out totally but...calling up two of them, well that was a whole other story.
Once her power had awakened in her all the pranks and accidents she had encountered from her brothers and sisters had become mean. Some days that shield technique had really caused those 'accidents' to bite the pranksters in the ass.
She thought hard as she warded off yet another blast, all the while keeping an eye on BOTH of the men slowly advancing towards her. Fortunately she was quite schooled in hand to hand defense. She could even use her power defensively for a short length of time without facing exhaustion. Unfortunately for her...she'd reached that limit and beyond by dodging and deflecting.
The mastery of hand to hand combat..martial arts...had been learned to defend against her siblings attacks. She was the weakest..the 'runt' of her family and as such she had been pushed around, battered, and looked down on since the day she'd been born. Yes, Born. Not hatched like her siblings.
To them that was the worst sin. She was considered a very bad omen. And so she had learned a way to at least protect herself from them. Her family believed themselves to be the very last of Dragon Kind and the birth of a child with no real draconic traits was damn near a crime to them. Some of her family had scales, some had wings, others could actually change shape but in them the actual Chaos power ran weak.
So when her power woke up stronger than her small body could handle, anger threaded through the previous affection for their sickly little sister. Even the parents that should have loved her unconditionally now feared her. The day she had learned that fact she had cried for just hours. Knowing that had hurt far more deeply than her siblings hatred towards her. And that was why she had chosen to leave instead of going to the party. She had to smile though. By her estimation she guessed that everyone was even now awaiting her arrival. She kinda wondered what they'd do once they figured out she was gone. But really...if she'd known something like this was gonna happen...she would have gone. Okay well maybe not but it was a nice thought.
The sound of the sword flying close to her face brought her back to reality as she moved back just in time to avoid the strike. Once upon a time..in the long past days...the mysteriously appearing party would have been removed from the arena and the match would have been called temporarily until then. But not now. The new owner was a very shady individual. His rules...or lack there of...had cost many a warrior his life.
Up in the stands the seedy little man with beady eyes rubbed his hands together. This was so perfect! The spectators were eating this shit up and he could just HEAR that gold filling his coffers...and pockets. He'd definitely have to do something like this in the next tournament on purpose.
In the ring Tiger fell back to the ground after a failed attempt to climb out. The sword flew towards her and only the impact of hitting the ground caused her to avoid the strike in time...an accidental coincidence. She was so exhausted now that her movements were sluggish. Those guards and even some of the spectators wouldn't let her leave the ring and that was all that she wanted. She skidded, doing a somersault and managed to roll away from the swinging axe, but it left her open for a strike from the sword. She cried out as the blade ripped into her skin, the serrated edging that wasn't immediately noticeable tearing its way out of her flesh. Her left hand went to the wound even as green blood began seeping from her.
She panted harder. Without true dragon type stamina she was all but useless in combat situations. Her body moved now more of its own accord than her bidding to avoid the weapons swinging for her. She had a feeling that if her many times over great-grandfather Finn were to see her now he'd be very disappointed in her.
Her exhaustion was so complete that she could do little more now than lay where she had landed after avoiding the last axe swing. Some small droplets of ichor landed on the cement floor of the arena and sizzled as it began eating away at the material.
Ichor. Not blood. That too had been another nail in her coffin with the family. That she could bleed Dragon's blood and yet not have any real trace of Dragon ability...have the power...but no stamina to wield it..were all little things that made her a complete anomaly, or outcast depending on how you looked at it, in her family.
So tired. She was just so very tired now. She closed her eyes as the axe was cocked back and began the swing towards her. The trio in the stands stood. This farce had gone on long enough. That child was NOT a warrior and did not belong in a life and death battle. They phased into the arena. Tiger sighed. No energy, not even enough to care that she was about to die. Not that she'd be missed.
The sound of steel hitting steel as the axe struck something that wasn't her caused Tiger to open her silver eyes. She turned her head to see what had stopped it and stared at the two identical looking warriors holding off the ones that were after her. These warriors radiated power and prowess. One glanced towards her and asked, "you ok," then turned to someone out of her sight, "we've got this dad. You can take care of the girl and get her ready to travel," the one speaking pushed back the axe wielder with a deft repelling motion. The other simply emitted power and blew his opponent back away from himself.
Tiger felt herself being lifted gently from where her body had come to rest and when she turned her head, her tired eyes widened in astonishment. He was the absolutely HUGEST person she'd ever seen!
"The name's King, girlie," he rumbled. He was massive. Three times the size of the duo taking on those other warriors, "hang on and we'll get you fixed up enough to transport," he stared down at her and thought to himself, 'why she's just a wee lass...no more than a babe really,' then settled her in his lap as he sat down. As she blinked a very long blink he inspected the injury, frowning as some of her blood dropped onto his pants, slid off and sizzled on the cement, "Ichor, huh?"
She jumped at his voice then nodded silently. He smiled, "you've got some Dragon in you I'd wager," his smile changed to a frown as she shook her head in denial, "course you do! You HAVE to because only Dragon Kind has THAT kinda blood," he sighed softly as she once again shook her head negatively.

In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Empty
PostSubject: Re: In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure   In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Icon_minitimeMon Aug 03, 2009 1:04 am

"All I have is the blood and the power," she stated softly, "I've none of the other traits. Hell, I wasn't even hatched...I was BORN," she shrugged then winced because of the movement, "I'm a bad omen." She winced again as he bound her wound. In the center of the arena the two warriors that had chased her so determinedly were now the ones running as the twins advanced towards them.
King harrumphed and shook his head, "a bad omen huh? No such thing," he waved her statements off, "we Dragons don't believe in bad omens," he shifted her as he stood up, tucking her into his side holding her as one would a child; her backside firmly planted on his arm, her legs dangling down against his torso, "you were born. Perhaps different from your family but you do exist," his great shoulders heaved up and down in a massive shrug, "I wont heal you here. Your power is too unpredictable to chance it," he changed the subject completely and turned now to shout to his sons, "Eh! Boys! Enough playin' around! Lets GO, yeah? Chaos Gate," he shouted finally and a black portal opened, causing Tiger's eyes to widen.
He noted her response and grinned, "that's right girlie! A girl shrouded in Chaos should only every be transported through a Chaos Gate. Don't mistake this for a meager portal! Betcha didn't know that, huh?"
"No," she answered, tipping her head to the side in curiosity, "but how...," she faded off as first she and King, then the twins, stepped into the Gate. Once all four were in, the entrance closed behind them even as another door opened before them.
King chuckled as did the twins, "I have AMAZING hearing," he ignored the roll of eyes his sons gave him, "Chaos Shield is a very advanced skill. Producing two of them is simply ASTOUNDING young lady," he grinned, stepped out of the Chaos Gate into a large room and sat her down on a tall chair, "Now! Lets heal that wound," he muttered.
Tiger yawned and gasped at the odd sensation that enveloped her arm. She waited for her power to kick in and skew the magic and was shocked when it didn't.
His big hand landed in her hair and ruffled it, "Phoenix healing cant be skewed little one," he stated, reading her confusion correctly, "SO! I've yet to introduce my sons. That one," he pointed to the left twin, "Is Liam and the other one," he pointed now to the man on the left, "Is Gabe. Couple of shrimps is what they are," his eyes twinkled mischievously as both of the twins protested loudly, "so lil one, who are you? And how in Vultrin's name did you end up in THAT arena," he had a pretty good idea as to the HOW but wanted to hear it from her so that he had all the facts.
She smiled, "I'm Tiger, well that's the name I was given when I was born at least, I'm on a quest to find my true name and calling as is my family's custom. Well," she blushed brightly, belatedly remembering her manners, "I am Her Royal Highness, Princess Tiger Solestari Liliam Elisiana. My parents are Her Majesty Queen Lorlai and His Majesty King Faldur. And as to how I ended up in that arena," she shrugged, "my 'power' caused the portal that I was using to malfunction when I tried to travel away from my home. I fell for a while, got bored, yelled enough and was dropped out there," she climbed down from the chair and bowed regally, "I thank you for rescuing me."
With a grin he waved off her gratitude, "Eh, it's nothing," he noted that Gabe was watching their guest with more than a small bit of heat in his eyes, "its not everyday we get to rescue a damsel in distress."
She really didn't want to be rude, but...she just HAD to ask, "How did you get SO big?"
King, Liam, and Gabe burst out laughing. Gabe answered, "we're dragons of the ShadowPhoenix clan. Everyone in our family are large, though not ALL of our clan-mates share our size. There are some that are very small indeed," laughter threaded his voice as he continued, "our leader is rather on the large side," he didn't go into just HOW big he was though.
Tiger stared at Gabe, considering his explanation, "you're...Dragons," she asked in a voice full of wonder, "I didn't know there were more of us around," her eyes widened as she glanced around. She hadn't noticed before really but they were in a Kitchen. But this kitchen was the LARGEST kitchen she'd ever been in.
Being the runt of the family had gotten her used to things being larger than she was. The disappointment she saw in her parents eyes when she didn't grow any bigger always puzzled her a little. She didn't really MIND being the mere four foot eight inches she had stopped growing at but this kitchen...DANG but it made her feel simply TINY! She was shorter by several inches than the chair she had climbed out of.
King smiled as he watched the 'child' look around. Her wide eyed expression was adorable. He reached down and lifted her onto his shoulder as he stood up. He had noted that she was swaying from exhaustion as well. He turned and strode from the room, explaining as the exited into a corridor, "Gotta go introduce you to someone, lil one," he stated ruefully, "rules, ya know," they passed through immaculate corridors as continued to speak, "gonna have to take care of that new owner soon if he keeps up the crap he's been pulling," he muttered darkly, "keeping a child in the ring to battle two armed, battle hardened warriors is absolutely uncalled for."
Tiger sighed heavily and muttered, "I'm eighteen! Like, literally. Eighteen today!"
King's booming laugh filled the corridors, "why, you're a mere babe! Eighteen! Hell Liam and Gabe are nearly seventy now. I'm nearly four hundred myself," he explained, "so yea. To me you're a mere babe."
She stared at him, "You um...dont LOOK four hundred. Though maybe that's why you're so very big?"
His laughter echoed through the room they had entered, drawing all eyes to them. A deep voice boomed through the room with authority, "Aaah King! What have you got there? I didn't realize Caitlin had borne you a little girl."
Tiger turned bright red in embarrassment and crossed her arms darkly across her chest in in annoyance. Reality around her slowly began warping as her power made itself known, a direct reaction to her current mood. She grumbled, "I am NOT a child! I'm eighteen today! Pah! I should have just GONE to my coming of age party," she began to pout, pink cheeked.

In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Empty
PostSubject: Re: In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure   In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Icon_minitimeMon Aug 03, 2009 1:05 am

A giant of a man stepped down from the massive throne and strode forward. He had heard her muttered words and felt the power streaming from her. His wise gaze also recognized that she was becoming even paler than she had already been, every second that went by. A frown filled his eyes but didn't remove his jovial expression as he came to a stop in front of them.
Tiger sighed softly as her exhaustion slowly grew. It never failed. Her power drained her so fast. She pulled out a small rag and held it to her nose as 'blood' began seeping out; yet another physical reaction to the power she had little control over. Her eye lids sagged and she had to blink repeatedly to keep them open. Her head dropped until her chin nearly rested on her chest, both from the exhaustion and the pouting.
"My name, little one, is Vultine. I am the ruler of my clan," he bent down and touched a finger beneath her chin to bring her eyes up to his, "I didn't mean to offend you. Rather, I meant to tease my old friend King here," his now concerned eyes turned to meet King's for a moment and unspoken messages passed between them before his eyes returned to her. He then spoke to her again, "So, child what is your name? And did I hear correctly that today is your birth day?"
"Oh excuse me," she suppressed a yawn and quickly put the rag away, "I am Her Royal Highness, Princess Tiger of the Royal Chaos Clan," she gave a small bow considering that she was still sitting on King's shoulder, "I don't mean to offend, but, you're like the HUGEST person I've ever seen," he was even larger than King and she had thought that no one could be bigger than him.
He laughed out loud, his green-gold eyes sparkling with humor, "Child you amuse me. But seriously," he turned his attention fully to his friend, "King explain to me how this child comes to be here in our keeping."
As King explained the whole story, starting at the beginning of hers, Tiger yawned and her eyes closed. The rumbling of voices became little more than background noise as she faded into sleep. The power streaming from her was automatically drawn back into her and a small bit of her color returned. The telling of the story didn't take all that long and yet, buy the time it was done with she was soundly asleep and King had one of his big hands supporting her back so that she didn't fall off. He stated lastly, "She performed TWO Chaos Shields, My Lord."
Vultine nodded thoughtfully, "Powerful. But obviously she lacks the strength and stamina to fully use and control the enormous amounts of power contained within her," he eyed her with some great consideration, "its no doubt that she is or has some Dragon within her. The blood alone states that. The power is another bit of proof as to that fact. I believe an investigation into the world she comes from is in order," he snapped his fingers, "and I know JUST who to send," and a small male with dark hair, eyes, skin, and clothing appeared. He touched the girl's arm for just a second and then vanished. Vultine's voice boomed out, "We have a Royal guest! When she wakes she shall have a Birthing Day party suitable to her rank!"
As people began scurrying to prepare, he smiled at his old friend, "so she's on a quest to find her true name, is she," he grinned, "well we shall give her any aid we can," he mumbled, "such enormous power for one so very frail."
The girl looked even smaller now than she had when she was awake. Dark blue lashes rested against her cheeks, enhancing her paleness. Innocence screamed from her as she slumbered. Vultine lightly fingered the tears in her clothing, "she's had quite an adventure already. Send Liam to deal with the new owner of the Battle Coliseum," he ordered absently, now deep in thought.
King cleared his throat, "I believe Gabe would like to go with Liam this time," at Vultine's sharply questioning look he explained, "I think he would avenge little miss Tiger here. It seems that he is quite smitten with her."
Vultine smiled at that and nodded watching as Tiger rolled and was instantly caught by King's large paw and then tucked against the big man much like a baby would be. It wasn't long before the dark man appeared before Vultine with a bow. He stared at the girl being held so carefully by King, then touched her hair for a moment.
"My Lord," he began even as his fingers began to rub the strands of hair he held, "there is buzz on her world about the disappearance of the youngest princess. Apparently she failed to show up for her Coming of Age party. But," he reported, "I got the feeling that her disappearance was more a relief than something to be overly concerned about. In the palace," no one even wondered how he'd managed to find out so much information in so short a time...it was just how he worked, "I overheard her siblings refer to her as 'freak' and 'runt'. There were other...less repeatable words used as well. It is true that she is quite small compared to her family, however I also got the sense that they dislike her for another, more basic, reason. Power," he stated solidly and gestured emphatically," that child has more power in her than all of her siblings combined. Listening to her parents conversation was...enlightening," he sat down on the floor and explained in detail what he'd heard.
"Apparently even before she was born power surrounded her. The birth was live. Which as I understand it is unusual for them. They are true Dragon descendants and all their children are hatched. But, um...not her. Oh and she bleeds Ichor instead of blood. From what I gathered she was a frail child. Weaker than the rest and for that alone there were what I'd call dangerous pranks played on her. She was sick a great deal of the time also, but I believe her weakness and frailty was a result of her power."
Vultine nodded and ran a finger along the pointed tips of her ears, "she has some Elf in her too, yes?"
"Her father is a Prince of Kender Kind, My Lord," he had to grin at the look of dismay that filled his Lord's face at that small fact, "though from what I was able to both observe and hear, it's rare for Non-Dragon traits to show up in her family. The overall consensus on her is that she is truly odd."
Tiger twitched in her sleep, rolled over and cuddled into King, her small hand curling against her cheek. The big man smiled down at her, remembering when his children were young enough to be held like that, "it sounds as though she's not had much in the way of a truly decent family life," he looked to his friend who had given the report, "Rex, how are things running on her world?"
"Very well actually. Her brother is in line for the throne and the other siblings have been wedded successfully in...well thought out and politically advantageous matches. She is the only one they couldn't find a mate for," he sneered, "apparently no male on her world wants a 'defective' female that's more often ill than well. Even if the illness is a direct cause of the massive power she wields."
"Well, as of now she is our guest and will be treated as her rank should be," he stared at both Rex and King, "Both of you shall be her guards. King your wife shall be her caretaker and your sons will also be her guards," he continued, "Rex shall keep to the shadows...when he's not checking out her world. I want a more in-depth report. Otherwise you are to back up King's guard duty," he pointed to Tiger's clothing, "Those are no longer suitable since they are torn," he stared at her circlet, "that is basic metal. And unsuitable to be worn by one of her rank. Replace it with a far more suitable metal..."
Rex interrupted his Liege, "Lord..everything given to that child is substandard for one of her rank. I noticed that the clothing in her room, which by the way is small and sparsely decorated, was made of cotton where all of her siblings and even her parents were wearing silks. Their circlets also are made of a compound composite of precious metals. He stared at hers..that one is..tin? Maybe steel?"

In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Empty
PostSubject: Re: In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure   In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Icon_minitimeMon Aug 03, 2009 1:06 am

Vultine shook his head, "No. It's a mixture of tin and white copper. That I will fix right now," he muttered, removing the circlet from her head and recreating it in the best of the precious metals HE had access to. With a minimum of concentration he had fashioned an identical circlet out of a metallic mixture of titanium, platinum, and a small amount of gold. Inlaid within the links were very small black diamonds. The Chaos Medallion that he recreated he gave an added element. One that would, for the moment, aid her with her Chaotic problem. It wouldn't stop her power from streaming out or anything but with his little addition the medallion would draw in a good portion of the power and store it for her and cycle it back INTO her. He smiled once he was done with the whole circlet, "much improved. This is far more fitting for a Royal Princess than that worthless piece of scrap metal she was wearing."
King grinned, "course, a little...helpful energy makes it all the more worthwhile, yes?"
Vultine nodded emphatically, "exactly. This little thing," he flicked the medallion, "should be very helpful in, at the very least, keeping her power somewhat in check until all of us involved come up with a way to train this child to at the least control this power that drains her so badly," he sighed, "it's puzzling. The Chaotic energy SHOULD recharge her. I don't understand why it hasn't been. In all honesty I wish Oblivion were still around to train the youngsters. He'd know JUST how to handle5 her."
King sighed a little bit and thought aloud, "maybe its not PURE chaotic energy. The chaotic energy would disguise any other energy emitted. But would also explain the lack of a recharge. Ah well, between all of us here, we'll figure it out."
Vultine nodded, "for now though, I will oversee the preparations for the celebration whilst she rests. I am sure that soon enough we will discover the problem and right it," his gaze landed on her and he smiled, "she is very small. I would guess that her...parents...did not care enough to ensure that this odd girl had the proper dietary supplements and such to ensure proper growth," he glanced up sharply to King, "your mate Caitlin, isn't she a nursery worker," at Kings silent nod he continued, "well then. Tiger here will be placed in HER charge to a certain extent so far as feeding is concerned," he laughed, "eighteen. She is truly just a babe to our way of thinking. Perhaps to her family she is an adult now, to herself she is an adult also. But I can not consider her such. We shall have to tread lightly around her and at least make the attempt to treat her as more than a child...but less than an adult."
Rex laughed silently, "I shall go now and explore her world a bit more for a while. There are things I am curious about," at his Lord's sharp look he shrugged, "I am wondering at the history of her family. Plus...for one moment while I was there I could have sworn I sensed the presence of another...more powerful Dragon. I wont be away too long and of course shall do my turn at guard duty," he moved into the shadows and vanished from both sight and senses.
With the unofficial conference over, King nodded to Vultine then turned and walked out of the room. He could tell just from the energy level that the little girl in his arms would sleep for a few more hours.
Vultine stared at Kings back as he made his exit before turning and walking back to his throne. He issued orders along the Dragon pathways, ordering special clothing and gifts be made for the child's party. In his long rule he had never encountered a dragon child so very frail. His thoughts were consumed with questions that had no answers and very softly to himself he whispered, "Vultrin...I sure wish you were here to give me some advice about this odd child," he knew that was unlikely though since it had been a very long time indeed since Lord Vultrin and Lady Lavelia had ascended to the Aerie.
King walked slowly down the corridors back to his home. Caitlin was moving around the kitchen issuing orders to Liam and Gabe as she worked to prepare dinner. At King's entrance she stated softly, "I understand that we have a guest?"
King nodded, "that we do. This here is Princess Tiger and we...," she interrupted his explanation with a wave of her hand and a stern look before stating, "What did Lord Vultine have to say?"
"We are to treat her as if she were visiting Royalty," he began to explain, "you're in charge of feeding her and doing nursery type duties because she is so very young. However, on HER world she is considered an adult and our ways must be balanced with hers so that no insult is given," he shrugged, "I, Rex, and the twins are to guard her while we work out how best to aid this small one in her quest."
Caitlin looked at the girl, "why, she looks barely seven! And yet she is considered an adult by her own people? How preposterous," she glared at her mate, "well...give her here then," she demanded as maternal instinct kicked in.
King grinned and carefully handed Tiger over. He laughed as his mate took the girl in a careful hold and headed off down the hallway towards the bedrooms. He turned to Liam and Gabe, "Vultine has decreed that you, Liam go and deal with the new owner of the Battle Coliseum," at Gabe's protest he put up a hand, "yes, you may go and aid your brother in this task. I had a feeling you would wish to do so."
Gabe nodded, "I would avenge her alone actually," he glared at Liam as he began to make kissy faces, "my doofus of a brother can stay here and help mother prepare dinner...since he's such a girlie man," he sniped playfully, causing Liam to move towards him threateningly. He put up his hand and grinned more, "so when are we to go and deal with that...slimeball father?"
"You may go now and deal with him. You also have a second task though," he stated then waited to continue until both of his sons were staring at him with full attention, "You will also be aiding myself and Rex in guarding her. She is to be treated as any visiting dignitary is treated," as Liam protested he held up his hand to silence his son, "that is an order. I realize that you may wish to fill all of your time with training Liam but this duty is both an honor and a privilege. And our family has ever done it's duty."
Liam glowered and complained even as his father was explaining their orders, "why does one...CHILD...require so many guards? I mean you, Rex, and Gabe should be plenty. And with mother looking after her too...," he faded off as King kept talking.
Meanwhile Caitlin was busy. She had removed the child's torn clothing, making note of the scars the girl had on her knees. She clucked her tongue as more small scars from what must have been childhood accidents (she assumed) and decided that whomever had been in charge of this girl had done a less than satisfactory job, "well now. Your in MY care now...and I'll soon set things to rights," she whispered softly not wanting to wake the child.
She bathed the slumbering girl and was somewhat shocked that she didn't wake. But she shrugged, in a way relieved that the girl didn't wake. She dried the girl and placed a small white gown made of silk on her, "too big really," she muttered to herself, making a note to have clothing that would fit the girl made. She laid the girl down on the bed and covered her before taking a closer look at the clothing she had been wearing. One by one she emptied the pockets...marveling at the sheer number of them and the many odds and ends they contained, "so very many pockets," she stated in a sort of awe. She even went so far as to check the inside of the girl's shirt, not too surprised to find the five hidden pockets that she would have otherwise missed.
She moved onto the pants, emptying the many pockets of the stuff in them, shaking her head all the while because some of the stuff this girl had 'collected' was little more than junk like colored string or oddly shaped or colored buttons. She would throw nothing away though because it probably meant something to the girl...since she'd obviously kept it. Finally her pants and shirt were completely flat. There was nothing in any of the pockets, not even a stray piece of string. She gathered up the items and set all of them onto the surface of a dresser. Carefully she altered the atomic structure of the dresser and other bedroom furniture...even the bathroom structures changed to accommodate the size of the girl.
She placed the girls clothing into the replicator to have the size analyzed, then began to have outfits of the same size made in the materializer. Instead of using cotton she chose to have leather and silks used to make the cloths, "really. A princess wearing simple cotton cloth. How absurd," she griped to herself. Boots, shoes, undergarments, dresses, pants, shirts, and a few capes and cloaks materialized pretty quickly. She folded them and put them away, leaving a single outfit (including underclothes and footwear) out.

In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Empty
PostSubject: Re: In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure   In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Icon_minitimeMon Aug 03, 2009 1:07 am

Giving a final glance around she nodded and walked out, ready to go back to fixing dinner. Just as she emerged from the hallway Liam and Gabe vanished. King sat at the bar dicing up onions, "that is so very sexy love," she wrapped her arms around his shoulders in a loose hug, resting her chin on his shoulder for a moment before moving away, "why is that child so very frail," she asked absently as she bustled around the kitchen, pulling out meat and cheeses.
As King finished up the onions and moved on to the green peppers he answered, "the power in her takes more than she has to give. Plus, I believe she was somewhat neglected by her kin. I KNOW she must have been fed foods that didn't contain a lot of the necessary nutrients she needed for proper growth," he shrugged, "we'll get her sorted out soon enough, wont we love?"
Caitlin nodded even as she threw some meat into a pan, "I'll make Conta Pudding for her," she mumbled to herself, grabbing a pot as she considered what ingredients to put in. She wanted to make it full of necessary nutrients to jump-start the girl's growth. She had noticed that, while she hadn't been skeletal, she had been a bit too thin for Caitlin's liking. Her own children hadn't been that thin ever. Even the young ones she looked after weren't THAT thin.
She put together the ingredients she'd need, then started cooking the meal in earnest. While she COULD replicate the meal, she enjoyed the process of cooking it.
Meanwhile Liam and Gabe were having a little...party of their own. The guards of the coliseum seemed very determined to prevent the twins from going to have a discussion with their boss. It's not that the guards were particularly strong, just the sheer number OF them were starting to annoy Liam, "Eh Gabe, are these guys starting to annoy you as much as they're annoying me?"
"Yea. They're very annoying indeed. Shall we teach them how Dragons walk through meat walls," Gabe laughed and began to move through the guards as if they were little more than water. Liam laughed and did the same and together they created many small puddles of red water that formed ever so swiftly into a deep red pond that ever so slowly creep-ed along the cement.
The guards weren't stupid. Once the fiftieth of them fell within a matter of moments, they moved aside. They weren't gonna die to protect their new boss. Jobs were easier to find than, well, a new life.
The twins laughed, their metallic blue eyes sparkling in amusement as the remainder of the guards moved out of their way, effectively creating a human hallway. They walked past all of them and opened the door to the owner's office. The seedy little man was cowering behind his desk in terror, "Go away," he ordered in a high pitched voice, "you're NOT supposed to be here."
Gabe laughed while Liam stated, "Really? You DON'T say...," Liam glared while Gabe took over, "we...heard you were forbidding Dragons from...viewing and participating in battles. However," Gabe paused and Liam jumped in, "we don't take orders from...idiots. Our God Vultrin once fought...and won...here. So there's no WAY we'll allow this..travesty you've cooked up to continue."
He nodded stupidly, "F-f-f-fi-fine! I'll do wh-wha-what ever you wa-want," he stammered as one of the two identical warriors stepped forward. He really didn't have any intention of doing anything of the sort...but they didn't need to know that.
Liam shook his head as he moved towards the man. He'd sensed the lie the instant it escaped from the fool, "no no no, you're NOT listening to me," he stated sneeringly, "you see, you're going to..disappear. And I will be taking over," he grinned, "seriously."
Donovan stared at the man speaking and really didn't care for what he was saying. He kinda knew that cowering was sort of unmanly, but...something about these two warriors had him quaking to the bone. Truth be told, he liked the power he wielded, choosing whether the matches would be to the death or not. Making decisions that effected lives associated with matches HE set up, tournaments HE created. And he was...unwilling to let loose the power he had obtained the moment he took up the reigns of this tournament.
Now that it looked like his power was about to be taken from him, he became somewhat angry. And that anger brought him courage...of a sort. He stood, walking out from behind the desk where he had been cowering like a chicken, "listen. I have a deal for you...," he began, "hows about we...SHARE this arena. I'll make you my...assistant! Yea. That's good. My assistant," he nodded deciding that making this person his assistant wouldn't be a...bad thing.
Liam simply smiled and shook his head as he stopped in the center of the room. He felt odd all of a sudden and then light sprang from beneath his feet. He jumped back as an elevator rose up out of the floor. It had unusual markings that he didn't recognize. He glanced back to Gabe and they exchanged a look with each other and Gabe shrugged.
Donovan grinned, "See? I KNEW that was there...I would have told you about it...I'll even tell you where it goes, IF you join me as my assistant," he was lying through his teeth but didn't realize that Gabe could easily detect it. He gestured to the elevator, "if you want, YOU can be the first to discover...for yourself of course...where it goes."
Gabe smirked, 'Lil bro, he is totally lying,' he sent telepathically to Liam, 'make HIM go first, since he's being,' sarcastically, 'so,' normal, 'generous.'
Liam laughed, "tell you what, Donovan, you little piss-ant. I'll be generous. You can go first," he gestured to the elevator an almost mean smile on his lips.
Donovan shrugged, "fine," he stated nonchalantly as he moved to the elevator and entered. He pressed the down button and within a second there was nothing left of the (now) former owner of the Galactic Battle Arena. Liam looked in and frowned. The guns were...just a tiny bit on the extreme side, "Damn Gabe. There's nothing left of the guy."
Gabe stared in shock at the small pile of ash sitting on the elevator's floor, "good thing we let HIM go first I suppose," he muttered as he moved forward until he was standing just to the point where he could look over his brother's shoulder to see inside the elevator, "That is definitely a good, um, deterrent."
Liam nodded, "for sure. I wonder though. I mean, remember the stories Gramps used to tell?"
Gabe shook his head in agreement slowly, "Mhm. The ones about Playland and Oblivion. But I thought Oblivion ascended to the Aerie. Hell I thought for sure Playland was just a...myth. This WOULD be the best place for a well protected training center for young-lings. Excellent security, impenetrable defenses," he spun with a wide grin, "its REAL!"
"Maybe. We still have to get DOWN there and explore," he mumbled, "and THAT is NOT gonna be easy Gabe," Liam stared into the elevator at the guns speculatively, "I don't know how we're gonna manage it. Oblivion was a Dragon so I can logically deduce that he set up one trap in the elevator to wipe out any non dragon types," he continued, "However. I can bet that there's more traps than that. Remember what Gramps said, 'Oblivion was a right kind dragon when he wanted to be, but he sure liked his privacy. And his training center was both a wonder and a reinforced safe place for the young-lings.' So there MUST be some other traps in this elevator," he shook his head, "and there's no one to ask really. Oblivion is gone, and any that were trained by him are either dead or so deeply asleep that waking them would put us at great risk."
Gabe sighed, "Liam, there's gotta be a way. I mean it. Maybe if you use your abilities to shield us while I try and unlock the trap...?"
Liam and Gabe both brightened up instantly as a thought occurred to them. Liam grinned and started, "You don't think...," he faded off as Gabe took over the odd thought, "that our little guest might be able to get us down there."
Meanwhile Tiger opened her eyes slowly. She yawned and snuggled down into the bed. She'd had the weirdest dream...her eyes popped open instantly as she realized that her nighty was far softer than normal. She stared around her with wide wonder filled eyes, "where..is..this," she whispered softly as she looked around. The room was a soothing sea-foam green, far different from her ugly orange room in the palace. Her hands ran across the comforter and she sighed. It too was so very soft.
The white carpet was so nice beneath her feet too, as she slid off the bed. She saw her clothes set out neatly upon a chair near the bed and went to them, "oh wow, they're fixed," she sighed happily and picked them up, "they're lots softer too," she looked towards the door a little bit to the left of the bed and couldn't resist the urge to go exploring.
She tip-toed to the door and cracked it open and peeked in. Her eyes widened, "WOW," she muttered, "its the biggest bathroom I've EVER seen," she stared at the massive tub set in the same green marble that made up the counter tops and matched the walls. Walking back to the chair she lifted her clothes up and walked into the bathroom to clean up and get dressed.
Out in the Kitchen King and Caitlin were setting the table. They had both heard the girl wake up and start moving around. King smiled to his mate, "well, love. Now we've a little girl in the house. Its nice," he set out the silverware neatly next to the plates, making sure one set was a great deal smaller than the others, to fit their small statured guest.
Caitlin hummed softly to herself a happy tune as she finished up dinner. She glanced up and noticed the small girl wandering down the hall, "we're in here Tiger, dinner is done."
Tiger smoothed her clothing, loving the feel of the soft fabric, "my circlet...its so very bright, did you...clean it while I was sleeping? And my clothes are so much softer than they were...," she stared. Something smelled REALLY good and she just had to investigate. Her stomach rumbled as she approached the kitchen, then found herself lifted by Gabe as he and Liam suddenly appeared.
Liam watched his brother make a fool of himself with an amused grin. He was glad they had decided to come back and consult mom and dad before attempting to use that elevator, "Well...looks like the shrimp is up and awake," he teased as he thought to himself, 'she's a very pretty little thing and I know dad is overjoyed to finally have a little girl around the place, but it seems as though mom is just as pleased,' he smiled as he watched his mom. She had a spring in her step that he hadn't seen since Claus had died.
Tiger laughed as she was lifted up onto Gabe's shoulders, tangling her hands in his hair instinctively to secure herself even though he had a good hold on her. She could feel the rumble of his deep voice as he spoke, "SO! Guess what Liam and I found, mother, father."
King glanced up and eyed Gabe curiously, "What did you and Liam find...hmm," he thought for a moment, "a beady eyed little slime-ball?"
"Well, yeah. Aside from that though," Gabe stalked over to the table, plopping Tiger down in front of her plate. He then walked around to his usual spot at the table, right next to Liam's.
King stared from Gabe to Liam and then back again, "what did you find boys? It must be either really good or really bad," he stared at them as he loaded the table with the pots and pans and bowls containing the food before holding out his mate's chair and saying soto voice, "sit and rest, my dear," and pushing it in beneath her as she sat down before moving and sitting down in his spot across from her.
Caitlin smiled softly to King, "thank you love," she said lovingly before grabbing a small bowl, filling it with a silky white pudding, and handing it to Tiger, "Its called Conta Pudding. Its a...specialty of mine," she said softly as the girl took the bowl and sat it in front of her, "Conta pudding is to be eaten BEFORE the main meal."
Tiger glanced around, "why don't they get some," she asked as she noticed no one else was getting any.

In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Empty
PostSubject: Re: In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure   In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Icon_minitimeMon Aug 03, 2009 1:08 am

Caitlin smiled, "they don't like it anymore," she explained, "its been quite a few years since they've eaten it, but I thought you'd enjoy it."
Tiger nodded in acceptance and ate a spoonful, "its good," she exclaimed, "i's really 'ood," she stated again...around a mouthful of the pudding. It was sweet but somehow it wasn't overly rich. Something about it was almost delicate. The bowl was empty pretty fast and somehow, she was MORE hungry than she had been before.
While she had been engrossed in the pudding, everyone else had began eating and her plate had been filled and was waiting for her. Silence reigned for the most part as they ate. King was deep in thought trying to figure out what the boys had discovered. Gabe and Liam were both of them trying to puzzle out how to use the elevator without dieing. Caitlin was just enjoying the company of her family, guest included. Why she had laid eggs that held all boys was beyond her. Having the girl here was simply a joy. And she was beginning to suspect that her son Gabe had an interest in the little Princess.
Tiger ate way more than she normally did but finally had to lean back. Her belly was slightly poof-ed out because of the sheer amount she had eaten and she knew if she ate even one more bite it would all come up, "I'm so stuffed," she mumbled softly, her hand patting her tummy lightly, "it was very good. Thank you Ma'am," she stood with a groan and bowed slightly. She dropped gently back into her chair, but not before she noticed the smile Caitlin sent her way.
"You're welcome, child," Caitlin stated formally, "I'm glad you liked it," she turned her attention to her sons, "ok so what did you two find? No more games...your father is gonna lose his mind trying to figure it out," she had noticed the looks King was giving his boys and how he was rubbing his temples.
King harrumphed and gave her a look that was somewhat exasperated, "oh hush, dear. I'm sure I'd have figured it out soon enough...," he faded off at the sharp look she gave him with a big gulp. It wasn't always wise to tease her he knew and apparently this happened to be one of those times so he gave in gracefully, "ok so tell us."
Both of the boys glanced up from the plate they had been staring into. Their matching golden brown eyes looked to their father and mother respectively and Liam began, "I think we may have found...," Gabe broke in swiftly, "Oblivions Playland," Liam butted in and got an annoyed look from Gabe, "an elevator came out when I used a touch of power," Gabe once again took over the story, "yea and Donovan got vaporized from the artillery trap in the elevator," Liam added, "we think that's why no one's been able to find it," Gabe jumped in, "it's because the place has been hiding right under our noses all this time."
King and Caitlin both were wearing nearly identical expressions of astonishment and King said softly, "are you certain?"
Both men nodded and Gabe stated, "yea its full of Chaos energy. But like on a scale I cant even fully measure."
While the weird talk was going on Tiger studied each of them. Gabe and Liam were identical in every way but she could easily tell them apart. Both had jet black hair and pale complexions, metallic blue eyes, and a warriors physique. However, Gabe was somehow kinder than Liam, it wasn't something she could clearly identify but he radiated a kindness that Liam didn't really have. Liam was rougher and she got the feeling that he wouldn't even pause to consider the consequences if something happened to those he cared for.
Both men wore identical outfits with a few small differences, Gabe had a weird leafy thing made of shiny metal tacked to his chest while Liam wore a black bracer with a weird plate made of something she'd never seen before. She thought they were rather unusual from what she was used to, but when they both looked at her she got the feeling that she was safer than she'd ever been before.
She turned her eyes to King and Caitlin. King was huger than her by a lot. But he was very kind. He wore odd armor and an adamant bracer with shiny bands in a bright metal she was unfamiliar with. His hair was jet black like Gabe and Liam's but he was way bigger. Caitlin wore a pretty bracelet. Her long blond hair was nearly knee length and she wore a simple dress. Tiger got the feeling that something was making both of them sad but couldn't really put her finger on the 'what' of what it was. She could tell they loved each other a lot though just by the way they acted towards each other. They were a lot like her parents in that way, always looking at each other really sappy and stuff. She just wished her parents could be more like these two. King and Caitlin didn't look at her and see a freak or a failure. She didn't know HOW she knew that, but some things you just know. Disappointment didn't fill their eyes when they looked at her, just a sort of odd happiness did. It wasn't anything she understood but it made her happy all the same.
Her power kicked in slowly and dishes started to lift and swirl around and she sighed. It had been too good to be true...that her power had been behaving. But a great deal of the Chaos energy was being...drawn into the medallion on her forehead and her eyes went wide once she felt it because it was being funneled back into her. Her fingers went to the medallion she'd worn since birth. It hadn't ever done THAT before.
Conversation swirled around her but it was just noise as she stared around. Somehow her chair was just her size, and yet was tall enough so that she was tall enough to see over the table. She had even stood up and sat back down and the chair was still right. Things here were odd. Like the room she'd woke up in. Everything else in this place was giant, but 'her' room was perfectly sized for her. She had new clothes and people around her that didn't see her as different or weird. It was very nice.
So deep in thought was she that she didn't notice right away that everyone else had stood up until she was lifted up by Gabe. She laughed as he dropped her onto his shoulder, "well little Princess," he said, "Lord Vultine has planned something for you, and it'd be very rude if the guest of honor didn't show up," he looked at the others and they all grinned. He watched his mom swipe dishes out of the air as they swirled around in odd patterns. Some weaved purposely out of her reach and he had to stifle a laugh. Liam and King joined in to help and very soon all the dishes from the meal were in the cleaning receptacle. His mother might like to COOK the meals, but she hated to clean up after them.
"Lets go then," Liam stated impatiently, "we're gonna be late," he headed to the door, only glancing back once to check and make sure the rest of them were following.
Gabe and Tiger followed Liam; and King and Caitlin followed them while holding hands. Instead of walking all the way Liam led them to the conveyor system and jumped onto one of the moving sidewalks that went directly to where they wanted to be, "we're NOT going the slow way tonight father."
King sighed, "such a lazy son I gave you dear," he said, tongue-in-cheek, to Caitlin and she replied in the same manor, "indeed. He's very much like his father in that way," and had to suppress a grin at her mate's indignant choke.
Tiger laughed softly, catching the joke, as did Gabe. Liam merely scowled, "Ha, ha. Very funny," he turned his back on them all and watched as they neared the tunnel that ran through the many walls that regular walking made people go around.
Gabe pulled Tiger down from his shoulder, not wanting her to hit her head as the conveyor took them into the darkness. He kept hold of her though and set her down on his arm. He marveled at the slightness of her and thought to himself, 'she's so very light. It's hard to believe her home can consider her an adult with how small she is.'
Tiger gasped as darkness engulfed her and she began to shine as light was emitted from her. She had no idea how she was doing it but it made her feel better to be able to see so she didn't question it.
Liam turned as the darkness was lit up and King and Caitlin exchanged looks. No wonder she couldn't recharge from the seeping Chaos energy. The light energy disrupted and altered the flow of the other energy. Gabe's eyes became shadowed as he started sending along the Dragon Neural Net pathways to his brother and parents, "light," he had to state the obvious, "and wind I think. It's hard to tell because of the Chaos energy. No wonder she's always so exhausted. I sincerely hope that when we get into Playland that Oblivion will be there...even if we have to wake him from his slumber. If I didn't know any better I'd say that a great deal of Dragons power has accumulated in this one child along her family line."
Caitlin answered and theorized along the DNN, "it could be that someone has intentionally tried to breed a sort of 'super' Dragon. It would explain quite a bit," she considered for a second, "they may have been attempting something that shouldn't be done but in the process lost the knowledge of what they were doing and why along the way. It'd explain why her family has been unknown to us. If they managed to get mated at one point to one of Oblivion's line that could explain how she's inherited that power," she shrugged, "who knows really, but, I think she and I shall be taking a trip to the medical wing so we can get a good look at her genetic make up."
King nodded wisely, "if her siblings are so very weak," he sent along the DNN, "and she has all this power but is physically unable to handle or contain it, that could be wise. Physically from what I understand, her siblings and parents are strong. But power wise they're quite weak. She is the exact opposite of that. If her family line were an...experiment of sorts...then there's a problem that Vultine is going to have to deal with personally."
Liam chimed in, "we're nearly there. Rex, I'm sure will have a more in-depth take on the matter when he returns. He's very good at finding shit like that out."
Tiger's glow subsided as they exited the dark tunnel. Gabe hopped easily off the conveyor onto solid walkway in the corridor just outside the banquet room, "ha! We're here," he smiled and put her back onto his shoulder.

In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Empty
PostSubject: Re: In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure   In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Icon_minitimeMon Aug 03, 2009 1:09 am

The rest of the family followed suit and jumped off the conveyor walkway. They then turned and, as a family, entered the banquet room.
Tiger's eyes widened in shock. Vultine sat at the head of an enormous table that was literally heaping with gifts. There were so many that they were even piled onto the floor and along the walls. Her whispered, "WOW," was only heard by Gabe, who grinned. She stared around at all the people filling the large banquet room as he set her down onto her feet.
At all the tables the people rose and turned towards her and Vultine announced, "Welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Tiger Solestari Liliam Elisiana of the Planet Elisian," at his announcement she straightened and changed from the young girl Kings family had just been with into the persona of a princess.
She stepped forward and only Liam was able to tell just how scared she really was at all the unused to attention she was getting since he had made sure to link his mind to hers to keep a close eye on her emotional state. He'd had a feeling that keeping tabs on that part of her was going to be very important when they finally decided how best to train her...if Oblivion really had ascended. Liam was beginning to hope that the teacher HADN'T ascended and would be able to train the girl since she was so very different.
Tiger didn't appear nervous as she walked down the aisle under the scrutiny of the people but inside she was scared. She kept her eyes on Vultine but she really wanted to turn and run back the way she'd come. She knew her duty though, it'd been (at times) pummelled into her when one of her sisters had been made to take over her daily lessons. So she walked with pseudo-confidence towards Vultine with nary a glance to the right or left.
The people stared at her in wonder. She was so very small, but most of the people in the room sensed the power she held within her and that alone created respect. And so they held the silence and honored the small Princess. Those that couldn't sense her power, could tell that even though all this had her scared she still continued, doing her duty and representing her world to the best of her abilities.
The smile she'd plastered on her face didn't falter even as she approached the large present laden table. Vultine rose and walked forward, kneeling down to take her hand without making it seem absurd or awkward, "Welcome to my hall, Your Royal Highness."
She curtsied, "it is an honor, Sire."
King, Liam and Gabe took to their knees formally while Caitlin curtsied until Vultine nodded to them to rise even as he gave Tiger his full attention. Standing he kept her hand and led her around the table to a chair, "sit here My Lady," he gestured widely to the chair as a waiter held it out for her and pushed it in under her as she sat.
Liam and Gabe took the stairs and positioned themselves just behind the Princess's chair as bodyguards. King and Caitlin took seats next to the Princess on her right side while Vultine took his seat on her left side, "Happy Birthday Princess," he announced loud enough so all could hear. Once Vultine took his seat the rest followed suit. Cake was brought out and served to the whole hall, even Gabe and Liam.
Tiger hummed happily, no one had ever made such a fuss over her before and it was kinda nice. Scary, but nice, "this cake is very good," she complimented happily. It was the tastiest thing she'd had yet. Her eyes kept flicking to the bright packages curiously and Vultine grinned over her head to King and Caitlin.
He glanced around and noted that most had finished eating and were waiting expectantly. He realized that the Princess probably didn't know that everyone in this room was related to King and Caitlin, "now it's time for the gifts," he called out with a small smile as he grabbed up a brightly wrapped box and held it out for Tiger to take, "here you go."
Tiger took the package happily and abandoned the Princess image as the little girl in her took over. She ripped the wrapping with a giggle and sent it flying...right into Liam's face and many in the hall laughed. The box lost its lid pretty fast and she flung it backward not noticing when it thumped lightly into Gabe's chest drawing more laughter. Her squeal of pleasure was rewarded with many smiles and chuckles as she held up a very nice cloak made of black velvet, "it's so pretty," she exclaimed happily.
King and Caitlin smiled as they watched their charge tackle each package with youthful abandon. Gabe and Liam couldn't help but smile as wrapping and box fragments came flying their way. They didn't bother ducking, nothing that she was flinging could harm them. Liam sent along the DNN to Gabe, "she sure is enjoying this," to which Gabe responded, "yes. It's very nice to see her so happy."
It took her over an hour to finish opening all the presents but finally all there was left were the gifts themselves and she stared at the pile with a happy gratitude, "this is the BEST birthday I've ever had," she stated softly, but Gabe grinned and enhanced the sound so that everyone could hear her clearly, "thank you so very much."
Vultine stood and smiled down at her, "We formally welcome you and offer you sanctuary for as long as you wish to stay here," he bowed respectfully to her and she nodded and replied, "I accept your offer," then had to stifle a yawn, not wanting to be impolite.
He nodded and those in the hall stood and clapped, then turned and began to file out, pleased that they had made the Princess happy. Many wondered why one with her kind of power was so small, others wondered at her youth and the foolishness of her world for allowing a child to leave or even worse, considered one so obviously young as an adult. But all were pleased that each of the gifts they had taken special care to create had been so well received. No one felt as though their gift had been slighted or treated as less than another and that in-and-of itself was a gift. A great deal of them wondered at how their gifts had been so gratefully received when they were just standard items that anyone had many of usually.
Tiger stood but then staggered. Liam and Gabe felt it just after she did. Some kind of energy slammed into her just before it was detected by the twins and the rest. Chaos energy began bleeding from her and the second wave attack was hurled back and away from her. The attacker cried out and the invisible barrier that had hid him and his power vanished. Tiger blinked in shock, "Rage?"
He stared at her dispassionately, "Freak," he sneered, "I formally challenge you, Tiger, to a battle of rank."
She closed her eyes, "but...you're higher on the family's birth order, why would you want...," her voice faded off as she moved forward. She waved off Liam and Gabe's protests, "he wont try again," she sighed and now, as she looked to Vultine and the rest, "the challenge has been issued. I've no choice but to fight."
King growled out, "you're tired. How can he expect you to fight and have it be a fair battle."
"It's not meant to be fair. They never have," she shrugged, "we need a place to battle. I refuse to do so here," she looked to Vultine sadly but spoke to Rage, "beating me wont increase your standing in the family hierarchy. It wont do anything but see you injured with nothing to show for it."
Rage shrugged, "like I care. If I defeat you, I'll take your power. Then Auntie and Uncle will allow me to take your place in the birth rankings. You're closer to the crown than I will ever be, even if I'm held in higher esteem than YOU will ever be."
Sighing she nodded, "it's true I suppose. But...who put you up to this? How did you even find me? I didn't even know where I would end up."
He leered rudely as he spoke, "I was there when the portal misfired. After I beat you, I may let you live. For a while. You'd make a good sex slave. It's frowned upon but you're useless as anything else," he laughed, "but I bet you'd do well enough on your back."
Her smile now was a pitying one, "you wont win. In fact, you'll lose. And badly," she sighed, "but you don't care. And that doesn't explain how you found me here."
"Easy," he stated, "I just hitched a ride," shrugging, "then when we got here, I decided to scope this place out. These people are rich," he held out a hand filled with priceless gems he'd taken from various places, "these will fetch a good price back home. Hell, I may not even GO home once I've won," he held out a collar that radiated power, "I'll slip this onto your neck and then...you'll have no choice but to do what I want," his laughter echoed through the hallway, "happy birthday little cousin."
Vultine gestured unhappily and where they all were changed instantly. In a moments breath they were all standing in the Battle Colosseum's base level arena, "I will offici...,"
Tiger cut him off, "there's no officiating. It's a battle to the death," she laughed sadly, "don't worry," she stepped forward, "he wont win. Not against me."
King and his family grabbed Vultine's arm and tugged him off the arena floor and nearly had to drag him into the stands. Caitlin stared worriedly towards the child standing in the center of the too large arena, "be careful child," she whispered softly.
Liam and Gabe perched themselves so that they'd get a good view of the battle. If there was even a minute bit of cheating they wanted to be ready to step in.
High above, in the owner's office another set of eyes were watching with a frown. Below, Tiger shook out her arms and legs then jogged for a minute to warm up. Rage on the other hand was still. He watched her movements with a sneer. He hated that little girl and it showed on his face and in his eyes.
"I hate you, you know," he whispered to her, "I always have. Many of the pranks you got dumped on you were from me," he shouted, " I HATE YOUR WEAKNESS. HOW COULD YOU BE CLOSER TO THE THRONE THAN ME," he jumped up and down impatiently, "I'm so much better than you! And yet! They treat you so much better just because you were born differently."

In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Empty
PostSubject: Re: In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure   In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Icon_minitimeMon Aug 03, 2009 1:10 am

Rex appeared, shocked to find himself in the arena. He turned and addressed Vultine, "there's been a development on her worl...," he broke off as he noticed who was in the arena, "shit! My Liege! He killed...,"
Vultine waved Rex to silence, "be quiet. Tiger needs to concentrate," his annoyance at this battle was evident in the tension in his shoulders and posture.
In the arena Tiger stilled and took up an advanced martial arts stance. Her body and mind stilled. She had a bad feeling about why he was here and a worse feeling about her world. The 'order' clan had always been jealous of her family, even though they were all of them related. They even lived in the same palace but she'd been hearing rumors before she left. Anyone could look on the surface of her world and see nothing but harmony, but peel away the layers and there was a feud going on. The common people were mostly unaware of it.
Rage moved first. One minute he was standing in one spot and the second he was in front of her, striking out. She repelled him easily. She was small yes, and sure her power wiped her out. But hand to hand there wasn't anyone better trained on her world in either clan. The crazy old man had made sure of that and; thinking back on him she hoped he was alright. If rage was here, then more than likely her family was gone to dust.
Her face was grim as she continued to repel his attacks. She knew what was coming next. His physical skills were less than hers so he'd pull out his power. And when his magical presence began building her eyes widened. He was far more powerful than he used to be.
He gloated, "your parents...they begged for their lives," as he called his power to bear. He'd sucked the power and life out of her parents personally. After all, he was the family assassin. What no one knew was that he could take the power those he killed and keep it for himself and now he brought it all to bear.
She backed off. He took it for fear, "now you're scared. You've already lost," he stated with a sneer as he began to send bolts of power towards her. He much preferred attacking from afar anyways.
She created a Chaos shield and this time it went exactly the way it was supposed to. Not only did it reflect the power he was sending her way, it also amplified the power so that when it hit him he flew back shrieking in agony.
"You take too much for granted, Rage," she told him softly, "You may have power, you may even be able to control that power. But you wont ever take mine from me," her voice was resolute and in her eyes was a knowledge she had gained over years of pranks and practical jokes that could have taken her life any number of times, "there is a reason Mother and Father left me alone and didn't interfere. They didn't need to. Because I refuse to be beaten."
In the stands Vultine, King, Caitlin, Rex, Liam, and Gabe listened to her speak and watched her fight. Vultine muttered to Rex, "there's been a Coup I take it on her world?"
Rex nodded, "I couldn't interfere. I was in the Library reading the oldest records and copying the rest so I could come back and do my duty. By the time I realized what was happening it was far too late. Her parents must have been killed either just before or just after she left. I'd say just before. Someone shifted to appear to be them," he sighed softly, "the things I read in some of the oldest tomes actually scared me. Many of them (a few generations in) seem to read more like a medical experiment instead of an actual history. I copied the whole damn library," he smiled sadly, "there's a great deal to go through but I'm sure the Librarians can handle making a detailed report," he continued his explanation, "anyways, when I realized what was happening I sent the books here and explored."
Vultine listened intently while the battle in the arena raged. Tiger had managed to repel every attack he'd sent her but she was tiring. She was using too much energy for any to cycle back to her. That was the problem with the chaos shield. It took so much more than she had to give, "you've gotten strong, Rage."
"Strong enough to take you down, that's for sure," he smirked as he moved in ready to deal a final blow. He could tell she was exhausted now, just as he'd planned. He was still full of energy and he hammered away at her, taking it as a good sign when 'blood' began leaking down from her nose.
Tiger was losing. She got far too tired now days when she used her power and tonight was no different. She sighed and opened herself to her power. What had been merely a trickle turned into a flood of energy. She didn't care what happened to her really so long as Rage lost.
He didn't notice her increase in power as he skulked towards her, "I am the superior Elesian Royal here Tiger. You might as well give it up."
She unleashed the skill she'd never thought she'd have to use, "You've seen a black hole, right Rage," she asked weakly. At his nod she smiled, "I'd like to introduce you to a little thing called a Chaos Black Hole," she was very pale now, her legs shook and her vision was going but she refused to lose. It formed so close to Rage that he had no chance. It pulled him in on a scream. She fell forward suddenly and began to slide forward towards the Chaos Black Hole as it kept growing.
The few spectators stared in dismay at this show of power. Liam and Gabe went to grab her but found themselves gripped strongly by both King and Vultine and their Lord said, "No. You cant approach it. It'll suck you in too."
Gabe tried hard to break free of Vultine and Rex was there, standing in front of him, holding him back too as he shouted, "I've got to save her," his voice was desperate, "let me go I have to...," he broke off as his eyes went to the arena drawing everyone else's gaze as they became curious as to what had his attention.
He stood his ground, holding the girl. He was a small individual and appeared very childlike. But the Chaos Black Hole winked out instantly. Just a little bigger than Tiger; he was on a whole other power level and he stared down at the child in his arms. He gestured, "healer come," he didn't feel much like healing and when Caitlin didn't move fast enough he phased her to them.
She stared down at the male in shock. He felt old, VERY old, "sir, who are you," she asked in a whisper even as she engulfed Tiger in healing energy with a whisper, "Phoenix Requiem."
"I'm Oblivion," he stated, "do you have any candy? I'm hungry," he stared up at her with enormous eyes.
She grinned and dug into a pocket and pulled out a sucker. She always had them on hand. She then turned her full attention to Tiger with a frown, "what did you do to yourself, child," she muttered. Physically the girl was fine but...she wasn't also. The girl had so totally drained herself of energy that her heart was barely beating. Even the best healing spell was having trouble counteracting what Tiger had done.
Oblivion studied the girl he held as he sucked on his candy. He was frowning and began muttering, "Chaos power, Light power, wind power. More but not awakened yet. Its unnatural," he glanced up, "who is this Dragon?"
Caitlin answered, "she's a Princess from a different world," she then explained what she knew even as Vultine and the rest of them joined the three in the ring. They all added to the story, including Rex. Oblivion listened intently. Gabe grabbed Tiger out of his hands and cuddled her close, glaring at Oblivion. He did NOT like the idea that another male, aside from his family members, had touched her.
Liam met Oblivions gaze and smirked, "so are you REALLY Oblivion," he asked. He didn't really believe that this small, kid like male could be the legendary warrior.
Tiger whimpered. Even with the healing energy entering her, she was in excruciating pain. She'd really hurt herself, using that ability when she wasn't ready; when her body couldn't handle that kind of stress.
Oblivion sighed, "she'll die, if you don't hand her here," he stated matter of factually to the male that was so possessive of her.
Gabe growled but handed her over reluctantly. He watched as Oblivion touched her forehead with a single finger, "what are you doing," he demanded as Liam grabbed him to stop him from surging forward and pummeling the male.
Oblivion ignored him and concentrated on the girl, or rather the mass of energy pouring OUT of the girl. He hadn't noticed right away while he held her but the reason the healing wasn't really taking was because she was bleeding Chaos energy and like any wound it must be closed before it can heal. His own energy had masked the wound and it was only after she was removed from his immediate presence that he'd noticed, "she shouldn't have done what she did. That level of energy is currently beyond her abilities," he criticized, "why did no one step in and stop the fight?"
Vultine sighed, "she asked us not to. Said it was a family matter and a fight she couldn't avoid," the conflict between what SHOULD have been done and COULD have been done still showed on his countenance, "and, I sort of wanted to see what she could do. And her power."
Oblivion turned and glared, "Since when are CHILDREN tested in such a manor! I may have been asleep a little while, but not THAT long," normally he didn't get angry; or at least didn't let it show. However in this case...he could smell his genes in this one and it really pissed him off. He could also smell Finn in her too which kinda double ticked him off, even though he wasn't TOO sure how his line and Finns managed to cross.
Caitlin sighed as her healing began to take and the pain lines in Tiger's face faded, "whatever you did, its working."
"Of course it is. Now...can I have some candy please," he turned on the innocent look as he glanced to her and got another sucker as a reward. He was still angry just...he was very hungry too and regular food made him sick whereas candy gave him a great deal of nourishment.
He turned back to the others even as he shoved the sucker into the corner of his mouth so that he could talk and eat at the same time, "Who found my elevator...and left a pile of dirt on it's floor?"
Liam and Gabe both cleared their throats, "the pile of dirt," Liam started, "was the former owner of the Battle Coliseum," Gabe finished, "we decided that since he knew so much about the elevator, he should go first," both men shrugged and grinned maliciously.
Oblivion smirked, "I see," he glanced down as the child in his arms stirred, "it seems she's waking up," he smiled and handed her over to Gabe, "I think it'd be best that she wake in the arms of someone familiar.
Gabe took her happily, running his empty hand through her hair as she came to, "welcome back Princess," he whispered as her eyes blinked open.
Tiger blinked heavily. She felt so very tired, "I won," she whispered as she stared up at Gabe watching as he nodded the affirmative, "good. I'm the last," she yawned widely, "of the Chaos Clan, aren't I," she asked sadly.

In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Empty
PostSubject: Re: In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure   In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Icon_minitimeMon Aug 03, 2009 1:12 am

Rex sighed and moved forward, "I'm afraid so your Highness," the pain on the young girl's face caused his heart to clench, "We'll keep you safe, Your Highness," he ran his hands through her hair. He wasn't thrilled with the twin holding her since he was quite taken with her himself. He thought to himself, 'if only she were older. By our laws she's far too young, her full powers haven't even awoken yet,' he sighed, 'and until that happens she will be considered a child even if by her world's laws she is considered an adult.'
Oblivion jumped up and hovered, peering down at the girl in the taller warrior's arms. He figured he'd only been asleep for a few years but he didn't recognize any of these people. The healer was very large but had the look of Lady Lavelia to an extent, and the Male that stood next to her, while large, had his own scent mixed in with many other genetic scents. Given these bits of information he had a bad feeling that he and his mate had slept far longer than they had intended. He grinned and decided to deflate the male who was holding the girl, "you two are cousins, you know. Distant cousins, but family still."
Gabe's jaw dropped and he glanced down at her with a frown, "the relationship would be very distant I believe," he stated stubbornly, "when the time comes, I shall fight for her if need be. To claim her as my own."
Rex sighed, "you shall be fighting me at the least boy. I would claim that female, were she just a bit older," he met Gabe's eyes, "so take care because by the time she comes of age fully, there may be more than just me who will challenge your claim."
Gabe sneered, "then I shall fight them all," his confidence shone in his eyes, "and when they fall, she shall be mine to claim."
Oblivion smirked, "and if she chooses not to accept you? Will you force her to do so? Go against the laws we hold dear to have her?"
Vultine, King, Liam, and Caitlin watched the by-play. They all had an odd feeling that Gabe was being tested but didn't quite know the how or why of it.
Gabe nodded slowly, glancing down at the girl who was asleep, "of course, if she chooses differently I would respect that choice. However it wont stop me from fighting for her if she chooses me."
"And if I say no," Oblivion asked as he pulled her from Gabe, "Will you fight me as well?"
Gabe became enraged when Oblivion removed Tiger from his arms, "I will," he stared as the girl was settled in the small man's arms carefully, "I wont allow you to interfere. She will be my mate," he glared towards Rex, "even if I have to walk through some males to make it truth."
Oblivion grinned evilly, "you wont be getting through me boy. And if she makes a choice other than you I will ensure that my kin-child's wishes are upheld," he lowered himself until he stood on the arena's ring surface, "as it is, I'm her oldest living relative and as such I claim her as my own. And my mate will agree. Since she is, I am assuming, now an orphan."
He looked to King and Caitlin, "you two have been charged with her care and protection, yes?"
The couple nodded and King stated, "it's been wonderful having her with us," Caitlin broke in, "it was simple to take care of her."
"Oblivion," Vultine murmured musingly before eyeing this odd individual with a piercing glance, "if you're Oblivion then you knew our Lord Vultrine and Lady Lavelia before they ascended to the Aerie," at the small male's nod of affirmation he asked, "in all your history of training children, have you ever encountered one like her," he pointed to Tiger, "a child so weak that using even a small portion of her power tired her nearly to exhaustion?"
Oblivion simply grinned childishly and turned and skipped towards where his elevator now was, throwing, "sometimes...the strongest ones...are the weakest ones," in a sing-song voice back over his shoulder.
Vultine frowned watching this oddly strange individual skip off with his charge and sighed heavily. He wasn't sure whether this...individual was truly Oblivion or just some fool pretending to be, 'though, he does seem to be as odd as Oblivion was rumored to be,' he thought to himself, 'he acts like a child one moment, then is capable of adult conversation and even a challenge the next. Information he imparts is thorough one moment...then almost riddle-like when asked a simple question. I wonder...did Lord Vultrin find this individual odd as well?'
Oblivion giggled. Tiger blinked up at him sleepily and yawned and rubbed her eyes before asking, "who're you,' and right behind that she yawned again and whispered, "I don't feel so good," before she sunk into a semi-conscious state. She felt almost wrapped in power, like a cozy blanket had been wrapped cocoon-like around her. A thought occurred to her, "Ra..ge? Go...ne?"
"Yep! He's LOONG gone, as a matter of fact," then Oblivion giggled again...for a mere moment before he shifted forms...into...oddly enough an old man. He stared down at the child he carried and completely engulfed her in healing energies that even the most renowned dragon healers hadn't managed to attain or master.
All eyes stared at the old man before them now and Vultine muttered, "oh shit," and moved back to the others, "I really seriously believe that he is Oblivion. The oldest stories say that he had multiple forms and that one particular one was...very annoying," the others nodded and Caitlin stared at the man ahead of them, "his power to heal is...far greater than even my own. If that truly is Oblivion...then what FORM is he in? Should we consult the Librarians?"
Rex smirked, "I'll go my Liege. I know the library far better than any of these," he nodded to the others then grinned mischievously, "illiterates."
King swiped at Rex...but the man was already gone. The large man grumbled, "one of these days...I'm gonna get him. I swear it."
"Rest child, find a deep and soothing slumber," the ancient man whispered into her ear, putting the strongest compulsion in his words even as his form changed yet again...as if each form he could take wished to see the child and do for her what they could.
Tiger nodded and murmured a soundless reply as her mind fell into a deep, dreamless sleep. She didn't get to see his form change as he became a furry tiger type that leaned his head down and took a deep inhaling breath, drawing the child's scent in. He memorized her scent, so that...if there ever was a need, he would find her anywhere.
He shifted forms again...to a more humanoid version of the tiger form and whispered in her ear even though she was asleep, "If need ever arises...I shall be there as champion to Your Royal Highness," he inhaled, glanced around to make sure no one was close enough to hear him clearly and stated, "I Shiro-Oblivion swear by my Katana that I shall be there as your sword to protect you."
Yet again he changed forms until he was simply an older appearing version of his smaller (Chibi) form and stared down at the girl he'd claimed as kin-child. His mate would be pleased to wake up and find he'd gotten her a daughter. He nodded silently then his form changed yet again.
He was back into his Childlike (Chibi) form and he started skipping towards where his elevator now was. The arena had been shifted around, revamped so that it was oddly different and he wasn't sure if he actually LIKED the change. The fact that his elevator wasn't where it had been was sort of bugging him. Finally he just got fed up and phase-shifted to it, sighing happily once he saw it.
He thought, while he waited for everyone else to catch up. Normally he didn't allow anyone else down in Playland, but apparently Karana and her mate had left or something and so he needed to replace her and Caitlin seemed just the choice. That her mate was one of his own line had swayed his decision. This ruler Vultine...needed to know where children should be sent, since he would now open Playland for training of young Dragons. How the young dragon had reacted had told him that Playland was needed.
He closed his eyes and shook his head. It was only gonna be a 'tiny' nap...but it seems that they'd been asleep for an extra long time. He had a feeling that Playland had been forgotten, and...considering it was a training facility for the younglings...that was bad. It meant that while he'd been sleeping the young weren't getting the full training they needed and young Gabe's responses were proof enough of that.
Their voices announced the arrival of the others and he called up the elevator. It dinged and the door opened and he stepped inside and waited for the others to do so as well.
Rex appeared by Vultine and whispered, "Sire, the Librarians freaked when I asked them about Oblivion...and worse when I mentioned that he'd changed into an old man," he continued in an almost whisper, "when I say freaked..I mean they scattered and began trying to WARD the library as if they were under attack! I approached one frantic Librarian and heard him muttering very panicked, 'not him...not HIM. I thought for sure we'd finally seen the last of that crazy old man,' and my Liege..he was CRYING!"

In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Empty
PostSubject: Re: In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure   In Which a Tiger Has an Adventure Icon_minitimeMon Aug 03, 2009 1:12 am

Vultine just shook his head before trying to climb into the Elevator, but finding that he couldn't. Something barred his presence, "what?"
Oblivion nodded, as if hearing someone speak to him silently then looked to Vultine, "you cant come," he stated simply, "you have no charge with you to bring for training and no purpose to take you down there. You are not this girl's bodyguard or parent or guardian. And there is no purpose for you to fill down there. The elevator will not allow you on," he paused as Rex stepped on taking a look at him before continuing, "and you have duties up here that need looking after."
"I...cant come? That's preposterous! I'll just teleport to you once you're down there," Vultine exclaimed.
Oblivion shook his head, "you'll end up somewhere else. The safe guards I've put into place have taken on a sort of life of their own and wont allow those without purpose to come down. You need to prepare the young to be brought here for training," he glanced down at the girl in his arms then looked up, "choose your successor...and bring him down here to be trained. Then you'll be permitted entry. Until then though...," his words faded off as the door closed and the elevator began to descend.
King and Caitlin exchanged looks then King asked, "why are we permitted, when he is not? What purpose is there for us to go down there? Neither of us has a 'charge' or 'successor' so why are we permitted?"
Chibi-Oblivion merely hummed a nonsensical tune and telepathically nudged his mate in an attempt to wake her. With her asleep he was just a little less...stable, "Lauranna, my mate, wake up love."
"Shh jus' five more...," she yawned and tunneled deeper into the bedding, "minutes Oblivion," even as she replied back to his mental wake up call along their private mental pathway, "mmm," and her tone faded off into a deeper sleep pattern to which Oblivion shook his head and sighed.
"Guess she'll have to be woken up when I get there," he giggled even as the elevator dinged and hopped out. He turned to watch their reactions with a soft hum and a slight grin...but in his eyes was a knowledge that was ancient and intelligent.
Tiger slept deeply, completely unaware of anything going on. King and Caitlin stared around and Caitlin muttered, "...candy??? Its all...made of Candy???," and King sighed softly as he stared around then mumbled, "cant believe this place has been here all this time and was just...forgotten."
Gabe stepped out of the elevator and simply stared around. Liam spoke for both the twins in one word, "wow..."
The couple stepped slowly out onto the chocolate lane, their eyes were wide and both stared around themselves dazed. In fact...all four of them appeared to be in a form of mental shock and Oblivion frowned imperceptibly at their reactions. The reactions of this family had him yet again wondering how long he and his mate had slept.
Well come on, he shouted as he skipped along down the path, "I'm hungry so lets hurry," he sped up and the rest followed, racing to try and catch up with little luck.
